Scientific Advisory Board
The research team receives advice and guidance from an external group of experts in the related research disciplines. The role of the Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) is to provide advice and guidance to the project team on strategies for achieving milestones and long-term objectives. Members of the SAB strategically identify challenges and issues facing or potentially facing the project team.

Partnering Researchers with Industry
The Genomics for the Improvement of Swine Health and Welfare project (hereafter referred to as the Swine Improvement project) is a unique partnership between Livestock Gentec (led by Dr. Graham Plastow at the University of Alberta), the swine industry (led by PigGen Canada), as well as influential geneticists, immunologists, veterinarians, and international research partners. This interdisciplinary team will lead the development of genomic-based assays to select for disease resistance/susceptibility traits, a critical goal for the livestock industry.
